When it comes to designing, one of the more difficult areas is the budget management. We've all seen those grand designs that go in with a set budget, get to the 30 minute mark and they have run out of money, only to pull a few thousand out from other savings.
Though we would all like to have a few thousands as a buffer when it comes to design projects thats not usually the case, and in properties that you're renting to sell, going over budget costs money. So what are the most important things to know?
SPREADSHEETS...I know, the dreaded word. Spreadsheets are so important for mapping out costs and pre-empting potential costs. Not sure whether you have it in you to create a spreadsheet? Well we know a spreadsheet superhero and she happens to be part of the team.
REUSE...Just because you've used furniture/paint/tools/materials in a previous home, this doesnt mean you can't use those in this property. When it comes to flipping a property, having furniture that you can use to stage over and over again will save considerable amounts of money in the long run.
THRIFT...Buying used, charity shop hunting and being resourceful with your purchases can help you stay under budget when it comes to decorative elements in the house. This also includes looking locally, whether it's local recycling centres or a social media market place, you will save time and money shopping locally.
